Adobe Unveils a Range of New AI-Powered Features for Photoshop

Adobe has introduced new AI-driven features across its Creative Cloud suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro, as reported by The Verge.

One of the highlights is the new Distraction Removal feature, which has been added to Photoshop’s Remove Tool. This tool works similarly to Google’s Magic Eraser on Pixel devices, allowing users to easily remove unwanted objects from their images. The feature automatically detects objects that can be removed and eliminates them with just a single click.

The Distraction Removal tool is already available in both the desktop and web versions of Photoshop, with more updates expected in the future. Users now have the option to choose between generative AI (powered by Adobe’s Firefly) or non-generative AI for deletions. There’s also an option to let Photoshop automatically select the best tool based on the image and scene for optimal results.

The Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar, and Generate Background tools are now publicly accessible, and they’ve been updated to the latest Firefly Image 3 model. Adobe states that this update enhances the diversity and photorealism of the generated results, as well as improves the AI’s ability to understand complex cues compared to the previous model.

Adobe Illustrator now includes a new Objects on Path feature, enabling users to easily attach, position, and move objects along any path shape. The Mockup tool, which allows users to place designs onto 3D models, is also now available to all users. Additionally, the Image Trace feature, which converts raster images (such as JPEG, PNG, PSD, etc.) into scalable vectors, has been improved. Adobe claims that the updated tool produces “sharper vectorized results with cleaner lines that more closely match the original image.”
